AIR VIDEO HD MAC INSTALL
Download and install the server software on your Mac or PC (Linux coming soon) and you’ll be watching your videos on your device in seconds. If want to watch them on iPhone, iPad, iPod touch and Apple TV, this is the app for you. No need to configure network shares, or deal. The biggest difference I find is that StreamToMe is much easier on the computer your streaming from. Air Video HD is the ultimate streaming video player for all videos stored on your computer. Just download and install Air Video Server HD on your PC or Mac, chose which folders you want to share and that's it. I've used AirVideo for the last couple years, but for the last few weeks I have given StreamToMe a try, and now I wish I hadn't waited so long. But I think Apple has to be careful about annoying content producers - movie and TV show makers - and so they are more than happy to let the maker of AirVideos do it for them. If I had to guess, Apple would have liked to have done something like AirVideo themselves - the ability to stream any Mac-compatible video file to your iPad. Music streaming is done flawlessly with Apple's own Homesharing and Airplay. But the additional capabilities of StreamToMe (streaming pictures and music) can be accomplished by other, IMHO better, applications. Of course, I'm biased, since I've used AirVideo for six months or so, and it keeps on getting better.

The camera automatically turns on when you open an appsuch as FaceTime or Photo Boothor use a featuresuch as Markup or head pointerthat can use the camera. No config required, no setup, no head ache. Many Mac computers have a built-in FaceTime or FaceTime HD camera located near the top edge of the screen. With 'air video', 'streamtome' etc you just double click, install server, launch iPod app and hey presto your all done. I have searched high and low and it seems that streaming software like this does not exist in the PC sector? VLC is an option but my god is that a complex beast to try and setup and configure. Most here will agree that the very 'heavy' APP Final Cut Pro or video editing in general is not suited for the Macbook Air.
AIR VIDEO HD MAC MP4
I can edit a 4gig MP4 video in Final Cut Pro on the new 13' Air, however 'edit' is a vague term, meaning cut, splice, add text and some low task editing.

I'd like to just install a tiny light weight server, add the client to my laptop, then choose the media I want to watch and have the HTPC transcode and send it over wifi exactly as it does to my iPhone, iPod and iPad at the moment. Hi all, I have a low powered netbook and would like to set up streaming from my HTPC in the same/similar style to 'air video' and/or 'streamtome' iOS apps.
